Welcome to SUNY Cortland!

Our Welcome Week schedule has events for you to get to know other students and become more comfortable on campus. As new transfers, be sure to attend these. 

  • Transfer Takeoff and Class Finding Tours: Sunday, Aug. 25 at 1 p.m. at Newmark Pavilion
  • Academic Convocation: Sunday, Aug. 25 at 4 p.m. at the Student Life Center
  • Recreational Sports Fair: Tuesday, Aug. 27 from 4-6 p.m. in the Student Life Center
  • Internship and Student Employment Fair: Thursday, Aug. 29 from 3-5 in Corey Union Exhibition Lounge
  • Resource Fair: Friday, Aug. 30 from 2-4 p.m. outside Corey Union
  • Club Fair: Monday, Sept. 2 from 1-4 p.m. outside Corey Union

Then continue to meet other transfers and learn about resources on campus through our Transfer Connect events listed above.

Peer Chats

Stop by Advisement and Transition in the Library to chat with a Transfer Network Team member. Learn how to get involved, how to read your Degree Works worksheet, how to register for classes or tips for being a successful transfer student.

Transfer Connect

Meet other new transfer students and our Transfer Network Team while you have some fun and relax together. 

Transfer Tea and Coffee

Thursday, Sept. 5 from 9-11 a.m.
Advisement and Transition, Memorial Library, Room A-111

Stop by and enjoy tea or coffee while you chat with our Transfer Network Team and other new transfers. It's a great way to learn how to get involved and meet new friends.

Study Abroad Fair

Friday, Sept. 20 from 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
First Floor Corey Union

Learn about how you can study abroad as a transfer student! Our Transfer Network Team will be there to help you find the right study abroad experience for you.

Pumpkinfest

Saturday, Oct. 5 at 12:15 p.m.
Corey Union stairs

Meet our Transfer Network Team and Tau Sigma National Honor Society to walk to the Great Cortland Pumpkinfest. Enjoy live music, crafts, a petting zoo and pumpkin-flavored food. Be sure to bring a little cash so you can enjoy all the festival has to offer!

Transfer Tie-Dye

Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Corey Union, Room 209

Celebrate being a transfer during National Transfer Student Week and tie-dye some socks. Event is co-sponsored by Tau Sigma National Honor Society.

Halloween Movie

Wednesday, Oct. 30 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Sperry Center, Room 104

Join fellow transfer students for a fun Halloween movie night.

Glow Ice Skating

Friday, Nov. 22 at 8 p.m.
Park Center Alumni Arena

Join this fun Cortland Nites event and ice skate in our very own Alumni Arena. Please bring cash for skate rental.
