Registration Information

New Graduate Students

You will be granted access to register online using myRedDragon after you have paid your deposit.

Seek Academic Advisement

Your first step is to contact your academic advisor to review program requirements and determine what classes you should register for. Your advisor's name and contact information was provided in the letter you received confirming your Graduate Tuition Deposit payment.

Register For Classes

Continuing Graduate Students

Continuing, matriculated graduate students are encouraged to register for classes each semester during the online web registration period.  Doing so gives you the time to:

  • seek assistance from your graduate coordinator or academic advisor
  • ensure you get the classes you want (or need)
  • resolve registration errors you might receive while registering
  • receive a bill for tuition and fees, rather than having to pay at time of registration
  • be prepared to start your next semester stress free

You may still register after web registration closes, however you will be expected to pay expenses at the time of registration.

Non-matriculated graduate students

If you hold a bachelor’s degree and wish to attend graduate courses on a part-time, non-matriculated basis you may do so. Non-degree status may be kept prior to matriculation, up to nine credit hours, when acceptance to a degree program must occur, or enrollment will cease. All prerequisites for these courses must be fulfilled.

As a non-matriculated student, you will not be assigned an advisor and you must register during specific non-matriculated graduate student registration windows (see dates and deadlines). If you wish to become matriculated or pursue a degree at SUNY Cortland, you will need to apply for admission before you complete nine credit hours.
