Summer Session

Thank you for your interest in Summer Session at SUNY Cortland.

If you want to get ahead, catch up, or explore something new in summer, SUNY Cortland has something for you. Information for Summer Session 2023, including a Summer Session 2023 Course Intent Listing is now available. Additional details will be released in January 2023. 

Summer Session 2023 Dates

To accommodate busy student schedules, Summer Session includes multiple terms and most courses are 5 weeks long.

*No classes or assignments shall be due in observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 29, Juneteenth on Monday, June 19 and Independence Day on Monday, July 3 and Tuesday, July 4.

Tuition and Billing

Summer Session 2023 tuition and fee rates will be available in January 2023 from Student Accounts.

Bills for Summer Session 2023 are tentatively due on Friday, May 5 (date will be confirmed in January 2023). All students are billed electronically. You can view and pay your tuition and fees online through myRedDragon. It is important to check your e-mail and account regularly for changes in charges, financial aid or other billed items. For directions on how to view/print your bill, please see View Your Bill. The Student Accounts Office provides general billing and payment information. Students who do not provide payment by the due date will be deregistered. 

Courses Offered 

Summer Session traditionally features a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses, with several options for General Education, Foreign Language and Writing Intensive at the undergraduate level. The Course Schedule is available to show courses that have been offered in prior terms. A Summer Session 2023 Course Intent Listing is now available. This includes a listing of courses that departments intend to offer in Summer Session 2023. The standard Preliminary Course Listing is scheduled to be available in January 2023, with the public course schedule being available in March 2023.
