Certification

TEACH and Program Code Information for Alumni

SUNY Cortland makes a recommendation to the State for your teaching certificate once your degree has been conferred and we have received your Teach Authorization form which gives us permission to recommend you. If you need a program code to apply for certification you may obtain that by using our online tool.

The College cannot recommend you or provide a program code for a professional certificate based on your undergraduate program. You would have to have completed a Master's degree with us in that same program in order for us to recommend you for a professional certificate and provide a program code for that certificate.

If you need assistance regarding a Teach Authorization Form, a recommendation, or a program code; please contact our office at 607-753-4702, or at registrar@cortland.edu.

If you need assistance to obtain other teaching certificates, navigating the TEACH site, or questions regarding pathways to certification, please contact our Career Services Office at 607-753-4715 or at career.services@cortland.edu.
