How are restrictions, pre-requisites, co-requisites, and special permission enforced?

Students must have the requisite course, major, program or class/level on their record to enter a course with restrictions. If a student does not meet a requirement, they will be required to choose another more appropriate course or seek permission from the offering department. The student information system will not allow the registration, and will present the student with an error message. In the case of special permission, permission must be explicitly granted in the student information system to permit registration.
