FAQ Details

What level (graduate or undergraduate) will a visiting student be?

Graduate Level

Generally, students that have completed a baccalaureate degree will be pursuing graduate level courses, and will be visiting graduate-level students. The only exception to this rule, is if the student will be exclusively pursuing undergraduate coursework at Cortland for the term.

Undergraduate Level

Students who are pursuing a baccalaureate degree or do not yet have a baccalaureate degree will be undergraduate visiting students. The only exception to this rule, is if the student is completing a degree prior to enrollment, but it is not yet received. (Example: A student is completing a BA in May, and is seeking to enroll in a 500 level graduate course in summer.)

High School, Concurrent (Undergraduate)

Qualified high school juniors and seniors are eligible to enroll in 100 or 200 level courses at Cortland as part-time undergraduate visiting students with a letter of recommendation from their school guidance counselor.
