My online transcript order seems to be delayed, what may cause this?
There are many reasons that transcripts can be delayed including but not limited to:
- requested attachment not provided
- age of academic record
- choosing to hold the transcript for grades
- choosing to hold the transcript for degree or
- non- financial hold on your account
Your requested attachment has not been provided
If your order indicates that the transcript must be sent with a given attachment, but the requestor may have forgotten to submit the attachment. Attachments may be uploaded at anytime. If this option was selected in error you may contact the Registrar's Office at registrar@cortland.edu to inform us of the error and would like the transcript released without an attachment.
Age of academic record
The age of the student’s academic record may cause delays due to how past records are maintained. If a student attended prior to 2000, this could potentially delay the transcript. Our office must verify the record prior to the release of the transcript.
Hold for grades
If the 'Hold for Grades' option was selected during the ordering process, the transcript will only be released once all grades for the chosen term has been posted to the academic account.
Hold for degree
If the 'Hold for Degree' option was selected during the ordering process, the transcript will only be released once the student’s requirements are complete, including resolution of INC or LG grades, and the degree has been awarded.
Non-financial hold
If an office on campus has placed a hold on our student record, this will prevent the transcript form being released. You may contact the Registrar's Office at registrar@cortland.edu to inform us of the hold and we will put you in touch with the appropriate office to release the hold.
