The SUNY Cortland Recreational Sports Office offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities to the entire College community. Programs are available to all students, faculty/staff and their families.
Most programs/services are available at no charge to participants. However, in order to protect the recreational privileges of our SUNY Cortland affiliates and to provide a controlled, safe atmosphere in the facilities, participants are required to present a current SUNY Cortland photo identification card to participate. To assure fair, consistent enforcement, patrons are required to present their I.D. cards each time they participate.
The Recreational Sports program is one of the many outstanding programs within the Division of Student Affairs. Most of the funding is derived from the Mandatory Student Life Center and Mandatory Activity Fee (MAF).
The goal of SUNY Cortland Recreational Sports is to provide a variety of recreational opportunities that contribute to the physical, emotional and social health of all members of our College community. We will continuously develop programs and activities for our participants to increase their positive use of leisure time, improve their quality of life and encourage them to commit to a lifetime of fitness and recreation participation.

All of the facilities that are used by Recreational Sports are ADA compliant and are also designed to accommodate a variety of skills and abilities.
Every effort will be made to meet the needs of all our participants. Contact us if you need special accommodations for facilities, activities, and/or programs. Inherent risks are associated with every recreational activity. Participants assume these risks when they agree to participate. All participants are strongly advised to secure health insurance and visit their physician for a physical examination prior to registration or participation. All those who enter must sign a Student Life Center Acknowledgement of Risk, Waiver and Release of Liability Form before using the facility. All guests and those under 18 years of age must enter and remain with the member the entire time they are using the facility.
