Adirondack Trailblazers Program
The five-day program will run from Aug. 23-27, 2026, the week before classes begin for the semester. Adirondack Trailblazers is open to all SUNY Cortland freshman or transfer students. The program will meet on campus, then transition to one of our outdoor education facilities on Raquette Lake in the heart of the beautiful Adirondack Mountains.
In our Sampler Session we will stay on the Antlers side of Raquette Lake in cabins and enjoy day outings. We will experience a different activity everyday, including hiking, canoeing, and climbing. The cost of the program is $330, and includes equipment, food, room and transportation.
In our Expedition Session, we will spend a night in Camp Huntington of Raquette Lake before heading out on a 3-day backpacking expedition through the Adirondack Wilderness. The cost of this program is $130, and includes equipment, food, room, and transportation.
Detailed Itinerary:
- August 21 - Move into your SUNY Cortland dorm
- August 22 - Light programming at Outdoor Pursuits in the Student Life Center
- August 23 - Travel to Raquette Lake facilities
- August 24-26 - Sampler Session and Expedition Session run programming
- August 27 - Return to Cortland

Add an extra day on to your orientation session and join our leaders as we hike local trails, bike to main street, and then camp out at our own private site at Hoxie Gorge! This is a great way to check out your new home and meet your new neighbors.
