If any instructor cancels their class, a modified schedule will be posted on Twitter (@CortlandGroupEx) and also posted at the front desk within one hour of the time the email is sent out about SUNY Cortland’s class cancellations. Class Descriptions

Barre

Barre is a fusion of ballet, Pilates, Yoga and functional training exercises, offering a dynamic and low-impact workout to improve overall strength and flexibility. This class incorporates controlled movements to enhance balance, core strength, flexibility, and muscular endurance utilizing the barre. Barre classes are suitable for all levels of experience and abilities. This class takes place in the Group Exercise Room.

Box N Burn

Box N Burn class is for people who want to workout and have fun doing it! You will feel the burn from head to toe through learned techniques such as punching, kicking, and pad work. Feel the release of worry and stress while you sweat! This class is limited to the first 10 individuals who show up and takes place in the Group Exercise Room on the second floor of the Student Life Center.

Indoor Cycling/Rhythm Cycling

Indoor Cycling is a fun, high energy cardio workout! The instructor motivates you to bike at various resistances and through different courses of hills and sprints. Previous fitness experience recommended. All Indoor Cycling classes are approximately 50 minutes in duration and take place in the Spinning Room on the first floor of the Student Life Center.

Rhythm Cycling is a fun and effective class that combines upbeat music with choreography to create a motivating workout. This class gets riders moving to the beat of the music that makes you forget you're even working out. Previous fitness experience recommended.

Meditation

This semester, we are not offering any regular Meditation classes, but "Pop-up" classes will be available when our instructor's schedule allows. Meditation is considered a mind-body practice which can produce a deep state of relaxation and a tranquil mind. During meditation, you focus your attention and eliminate the stream of jumbled thoughts that may be crowding your mind and causing stress.

Muscle Hustle

This class is a dynamic group fitness class that combines weight training, abs and cardio exercises to target your entire body. This high-energy workout will help you build strength, improve cardiovascular endurance, and burn calories. Suitable for all fitness levels, Muscle Hustle offers a challenging yet rewarding experience in a supportive group setting. Join us for a full-body workout in the Group Exercise Room!

Pilates and Sculpt Pilates

This class offers a mat-based, low-impact workout that emphasizes controlled movements to improve balance, core strength, mobility, and body awareness. Each session targets all muscle groups to enhance strength and flexibility, with a specific focus on engaging the core muscles throughout. This class takes place in the Group Exercise Room and is appropriate for all experience levels and abilities!

Yoga

Bring your body back into balance with Yoga. Regular participation in yoga helps to lengthen and strengthen muscles, maintain healthy organs, promote greater body awareness, and aids in developing a greater union between mind, body and breath. Classes will have an emphasis on foundational postures and posture series. Perfect for all experience levels and abilities. Al classes take place in the Mind Body Room on the second floor of the Student Life Center.

Zumba

Unfortunately, Zumba is not a part of our regular schedule this semester. Watch for occasional pop-up class offerings! Zumba is a full body dance class which acts as both a cardio and toning workout. Come relieve stress will you dance to Latin music and have a blast!
