Disability Pride

Description

SUNY Cortland is excited to begin a Disability Pride campaign. We know that people with disabilities strengthen the campus community and we want to highlight their accomplishments, experiences, and perspectives. As part of this campaign, we are looking for disabled and neurodivergent students, faculty, and staff who may be willing to tell their stories to the campus community. We plan on sharing those stories online, in social media, and in physical locations on campus. The finished products may look similar to SUNY Cortland's Beloved Community Narratives, Cornell's Diversity Includes Disability, and University at Buffalo's Disability as Diversity projects.

Please consider sharing this call with those you know on campus who espouse disability pride. Your suggestion may encourage them to share their stories.

Self-Nomination

If you identify as disabled or as having a disability, please fill out this form to nominate yourself for the campaign.

Sponsored by the Disability Resources, Multicultural Life and Diversity, and Institutional Equity and Inclusion Offices. Please call 607-753-2967 or email jeremy.zhe-heimerman@cortland.edu with any questions.
