Deaf or Hard of Hearing

Students who are Deaf or hard of hearing may gain equal access in several ways. We will meet with a student to discuss which tools are most likely to be useful for their particular situation.:

  • TDD 607-753-2967 (through Disability Resources)
  • Live and/or recorded video captions
  • Transcripts of audio content
  • Coordination of ASL interpreter services
  • Loans of FM Hearing Systems
  • Note taking assistance, which may include early access to PowerPoint slides, technology that synchronizes a student's notes with an audio recording, or notes from a peer note taker
  • Early notification to instructors regarding accessibility needs
  • Liaison with community agency support services and resources
