Szilvia Kadas
Szilvia Kadas, Art and Art History Department, had her latest solo exhibition, “Poetry in Visual Form” open on Sept. 4 in Nyiregyhaza, City Gallery, Hungary. The exhibition showcases 40 original illustrations by Kadas and will be on display until Wednesday, Oct. 9.
Jeremy Jiménez
Jeremy Jiménez, Foundations and Social Advocacy Department, recently had his article, co-written with SUNY Cortland alumni Tova Wilensky ’20, published in the journal International Studies in Sociology of Education. The article is titled “‘It’s my responsibility’: perspectives on environmental justice and education for sustainability among international school students in Singapore.”

Joshua Peluso, Systems Administration and Web Services, served on a panel to discuss “Web Apps and Responsive Web Design,” at the SUNY Technology Conference held June 18 in Lake Placid, N.Y. The panel discussion was sponsored by the SUNY Council of Chief Information Officers.

Ryan Vooris and Kerry Fischer, Sport Management Department, co-authored a recently published manuscript in the Global Sports Business Journal titled “Generation Multitasker: How Millennials use Second Screens While Watching Televised Sport.”
Barry Schecter
Barry Schecter, Health Department, will speak at the American Association for Treatment of Opiate Disorders Conference planned for April 21-25 in Las Vegas. The conference will address treating adolescents and young adults suffering from addiction and is geared to new innovations in treating youth. He will present research on the benefits of medication-assisted treatment, and the role stigma plays in keeping people sick. Schecter will present a similar topic at the American Society of Addiction Medicine at the annual Med-Sci Conference, being held April 19-22 in Atlanta.
Christopher McRoberts
Christopher McRoberts, Geology Department, presented the keynote address on the end-Triassic mass extinction at the Museum of the Earth/Paleontological Research Institution’s 2011 Summer Symposium. He also recently published in the Journal of Paleontology a 55-page monograph on the taxonomy and biostratigraphy of Late Triassic bivalve fossils from northeastern British Columbia, Canada.
Richard Hunter
Richard Hunter, Geography Department, has an article currently in press with The Professional Geographer. The article, “Land Use Change in New Spain: A Three-Dimensional Historical GIS Analysis,” offers new insights about the local-scale landscape effects of European colonization of the New World.

Richard Hunter, Geography Department, and Andrew Sluyter, Louisiana State University, presented their paper “The Use of Colonial Land-grant Documents and GIS to Reconstruct Soil Carbon Sequestration in Sixteenth-century Mexico” on June 30 at the European Society for Environmental History in Versailles, France.
Seth N. Asumah
Seth N. Asumah, Africana Studies and Political Science departments, received a national appointment to referee the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Soccer Championships from Nov. 3-6, hosted by Tompkins County Community College, Dryden, N.Y. Asumah is a member of the United States Soccer Federation and the National Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association. He has represented the United States in five international matches and has received six national appointments to officiate the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Final Four Championship games in all divisions. This is his fourth NJCAA National Soccer Championship appointment.
Alexandru Balas
Alexandru Balas, International Studies Program and Clark Center for Global Engagement, had his review published in the Romanian Journal of Indian Studies. He reviewed two books about the relations between India and the European Union: Changing Indian Images of the European Union Perception and Misperception and India and the European Union in a Turbulent World, both edited by Rajendra K. Jain.
