Cast Announced for ‘Kiss Me, Kate’
The Performing Arts Department has announced the cast for its October production of the Cole Porter Broadway musical comedy “Kiss Me, Kate.” The play will be performed Friday, Oct. 22, through Sunday, Oct. 31, in the Dowd Fine Arts Center Theatre. Tickets go on sale Oct. 1 at Jodi’s Hallmark Shop on Main Street.
Performing Arts Schedule Includes Concerts, Plays and Recitals
The Performing Arts Department has announced its 2010-11 season of music, theatre and dance events at the Dowd Fine Arts Center. A variety of programs are planned, ranging from a Greek tragedy to a musical comedy.
Choral Union to Resume Rehearsals
The Choral Union, under the direction of Stephen B. Wilson, Performing Arts Department, will resume rehearsals for the fall semester on Monday, Aug. 30. Rehearsals will be held at 7 p.m. in Dowd Fine Arts Building, Room 108.

American Library Association Honors Hischak
Thomas Hischak, Performing Arts Department, was awarded the Outstanding Reference Book Award of 2009 by the American Library Association (ALA) for his nonfiction work, Broadway Plays and Musicals: Descriptions and Essential Facts of More Than 14,000 Shows Through 2007.
Rock Musical ‘Rent’ Comes to Cortland

Three Thornton Wilder One-Act Plays at Dowd in December
The Performing Arts Department will present three classic American one-act plays Dec. 10- 13 in a 90-minute program titled "The Long Christmas Dinner and Other Short Plays By Thornton Wilder." The three comedy-dramas will be performed by an all-student cast in the Dowd Fine Arts Center Lab Theatre. Performances are at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10, Friday, Dec. 11 and Saturday, Dec. 12, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 13.
Annual Holiday Concert Takes Place Dec. 8
The Performing Arts Department will present its annual Holiday Concert at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 8, in the Dowd Fine Arts Theatre.
