College Singers

Renee Heitmann, conductor

Co-sponsored by The Performing Arts Department and the Student Government Association, The College Singers is a vocal ensemble with a focus on musical theatre repertoire. As this is both a class and a club, students may participate for course credit (MUS 249, one credit hour) or for their own enjoyment.

The chorus performs one public concert per semester: a themed concert in the fall and a full concert format musical in the spring. While preparing concert material, participants learn choral musicianship, expand personal musical ability and foster an appreciation of music.

The College Singers welcomes all voices, but an audition is required of non-musical theatre majors. Students interested in auditioning should attend a rehearsal during the first week of classes. Rehearsals are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 3 - 3:50 p.m. in Dowd Fine Arts Center, Room 111. Those interested should contact the Director, Renee Heitmann at renee.heitmann@cortland.edu.
