Wishing you a relaxing winter break

12/14/2021

Dear students,

I am reaching out to you in admiration and appreciation at the conclusion of another semester.

We are gradually returning to a sense of normalcy at SUNY Cortland, with in-person classes and internships, club meetings and events and even a Cortaca Jug football game. This is thanks to your efforts in receiving COVID-19 vaccines, attending surveillance testing and wearing face coverings.

On behalf of all the faculty and staff, I thank you for helping to make this university a safe place.

I do want to share a reminder about COVID-19 vaccine boosters. SUNY system has not yet mandated boosters, but you should know that this is under consideration and is a very real possibility. If this becomes a requirement, the university will share this news with you.

I strongly encourage you to get your COVID-19 booster during the winter break. New York state’s COVID-19 vaccine website has information on how to schedule an appointment at a state-run site or other locations.

I wish you success through your final exams and I sincerely hope you enjoy a relaxing and restful winter break with your friends and family.

All the best,

Erik J. Bitterbaum

President
