SUNY Cortland Clothing Closet
The SUNY Cortland Clothing Closet, Dragons Dress for Success, was created in Spring 2019 by the Student Government Association (SGA). The service is offered by SGA with support from Career Services and the SUNY Cortland Cupboard. Students in need of professional clothing for internships, student teaching and job interviews are encouraged to stop by the Clothing Closet located in Old Main, Room B-05. The Clothing Closet is co-located with the SUNY Cortland Cupboard (food pantry). Please visit the SUNY Cortland Cupboard website for current hours, Monday through Friday. Please send an email to SGA@cortland.edu if you have questions.
Guidelines for Donors
Please provide only items that are current, clean (dry cleaned or recently washed), and in good condition. Students are seeking professional clothing that is in style for use at job interviews, internships, and student teaching. Items in all sizes are welcome. Please do not donate items that are stained, ripped or missing buttons. We ask donors to carefully examine donations prior to dropping off to be sure that items are not better suited for another community clothing donation location. [Items deemed as unacceptable will be donated to a local thrift store.] The Dress for Success clothing closet is run by volunteers. Please help us by only donating appropriate items. Thank you.
Donations will be accepted at the Clothing Closet during open-hours, or please contact SGA@cortland.edu to further discuss donations or to make special arrangements.
Note: At this time, inventory racks are fairly full, but the Closet could use more smaller-sized men's style suits and dress shirts, and women's style button down blouses, blazers and jackets. At this time, no slacks or pants are needed.
