Living on Campus
SUNY Cortland offers a variety of on-campus housing options designed to support student success, community engagement and personal development. Residence halls include traditional corridor-style buildings, suite-style living and apartment-style spaces, allowing students to find a living environment that best fits their needs.
Each residential community is staffed by trained student and professional staff who work to create safe, inclusive and engaging living environments. Students benefit from convenient access to campus resources, academic support and opportunities to build connections within their community.

Off-Campus Housing
Students must meet the on-campus housing requirement before moving off campus. First-year students are required to live on campus for four semesters and transfer students are required to live on campus for two semesters.
Students who wish to move off campus before completing this requirement must submit a Release from Housing Request through the housing portal and receive approval prior to signing an off-campus lease.
