Careers

Preparing for a Career in Sport
Starting with their first semester on campus, students in the Cortland Sport Management Department begin preparations for a career in the sport industry. The program has a unique partnership with Cortland's NCAA Division III athletic department that allows sport management students to gain valuable hands-on experience through event practicum courses (SPM 149, 249, 349). In addition, topics such as resume development, interviewing skills and job etiquette are taught in a pre-internship seminar (SPM 370) before students embark on their senior internship.
