Your 5,000-Acre Classroom

Raquette Lake

The Center for Environmental Outdoor Education provides students with hands-on outdoor education learning opportunities in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains.
Here, you will discover the challenges and opportunities nature’s own classroom provides. All recreation majors participate in the Outdoor Education Practicum where together we spend two weeks paddling, hiking, leading and learning in one of the most beautiful landscapes in America. Our rustic facility is a National Historic Landmark resting on the shores of Raquette Lake within the six million acre Adirondack Park.
