Money Out of Thin Air

This is the first in a series of events to explore Money Out of Thin Air. For this event, we will be screening the 2018 documentary film Panic: The Untold Story of the 2008 Financial Crisis. During the Panic, money and economic value vanished into thin air, as defaults cascaded across the housing and financial markets. How did policy makers respond and have we learned lessons from this critical time in American and global economic history? Professors Stephen Maher and Benjamin Wilson, from the economics department will discuss these topics and your questions after the film.
