Project Updates
These are a few of our most visible and impactful projects currently underway on campus. If you have questions about these or any other projects, please feel free to reach out… we’re always happy to answer questions and talk through what’s happening across campus.
Elevator Replacements (Multiple Buildings)
Elevator upgrades are underway in Winchell, Old Main 1 & 2, Neubig, and Park Center. These elevators have been in service for nearly 50 years and are being replaced to improve reliability and maintain ADA accessibility.
Status: Winchell and Old Main 1 are complete… Old Main 2 is in progress… Neubig and Park Center are scheduled for summer 2026.
Park Center Bleacher Replacement
The gym bleachers will be replaced to improve seating, accessibility, and overall experience. The current bleachers are original to the building, do not meet accessibility needs, and are increasingly difficult to maintain.
Schedule: Construction planned for summer 2026.
Park Center Pool Improvements
Upgrades to the Holstein Pool will address aging infrastructure and improve safety, functionality, and water quality. Work includes updates to pool systems, surfaces, and accessibility features.
Schedule: Construction begins spring break and will be completed over summer.
Corey Student Union Renovation
A major renovation is being planned for Corey Union to modernize the building and better support student needs. The project will include building system upgrades, improved accessibility, and refreshed interior spaces. Dining and kitchen areas on the ground floor will remain in place. A new roof and energy-efficient geothermal system are also planned.
Schedule: Fall/winter 2026 through 2029
Corey Temporary Relocations (“Surge Plan”)
To allow for the Corey renovation, several departments and services will be temporarily relocated across campus.
Planned Moves Include:
- Student Conduct, Campus Activities, and MLDO → CVH B Wing
- CAS → Winchell
- Dunkin’ → Neubig (with additional dining updates)
- Brockway Dining / Writing Center → New Event Space
- Writing Center → Library
Old Main Bathroom Renovations & Sprinkler Upgrades
Renovations will modernize all restrooms in Old Main, improving accessibility and updating finishes, fixtures, and building systems. The project will also include fire protection upgrades. Work will be phased so the building remains in use throughout construction.
Schedule: Summer 2026 through fall 2027.
New South Campus Residence Hall
Planning is underway for a new apartment-style residence hall with approximately 200 beds. The building will offer a mix of living arrangements with shared kitchens, bathrooms, and community spaces designed to support both independence and connection.
Schedule: Construction begins fall 2026. Opening planned for fall 2028.
