The College Student Inventory (CSI)

College Student Inventory Invitation (CSI) – Online Survey Login Instructions

Dear COR 101 Student,

Your instructor has asked you to complete the College Student Inventory (CSI). The CSI is about you, for you. There are no right or wrong answers. The CSI helps identify your strengths, motivation, and the campus resources that can support your success.

The CSI takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. For best results, please use a lap or desktop computer, which makes it easier to save, email, or print your results. If you need any assistance to complete the CSI or assignment, contact Advisement and Transition and we will be happy to work with you.

  • Select the URL or QR code provided by your instructor.
  • Select “Open Survey” to launch the CSI in a new browser window. At the welcome screen, “TAKE SURVEY” page, you will be prompted to enter your student information.
  • Answer all the student information questions carefully and accurately. Be sure to use your formal first name and add your Cortland ID number, including the C00”, then select “BEGIN SURVEY”.
  • The final question asks whether you authorize SUNY Cortland to share your results with campus support offices and your academic advisor. We encourage you to answer “Yes” so we can better support you. All information is secure and confidential.
  • Once you complete the CSI, you must email the link to your Cortland email, a link to your results so you can access your report later. This step is very important.
  • When reviewing your CSI report, please refer to the Resources List provided to help interpret your results. You are encouraged to contact or visit campus offices for assistance.

Be sure to review the positive information in your report!

  • If you encounter technical difficulties, do NOT retake the survey:

Your answers save automatically so when you log back in using the same survey link, just enter your formal first and last name, date of birth, C#00____ and Cortland email address. The survey will resume where you left off. It may appear that you are retaking the survey, but your previous responses will still be there.

If problems continue, try using a different browser or computer.

If you are unable to complete the survey, contact [email protected], or [email protected] or your instructor.

Do not forget to email, print, or save a copy of your results immediately after completing the CSI.

Thank you for responding to this important invitation.

Please complete the College Student Inventory by the deadline assigned by your instructor.
