President shares testing reminder

Dear students,

As we approach the midway point of the semester, I want to take a moment to thank all of you for your hard work and sacrifice throughout this challenging time.

We must, however, continue striving to keep SUNY Cortland safe for the remainder of this semester. This is not the time to get complacent in our efforts against COVID-19.

Testing remains a vital tool in monitoring the health of our campus. Please participate and be mindful of your responsibility to the greater Cortland community. 

Some important reminders:

• All students, on campus and off, are required to participate in weekly testing at the Student Life Center. You may register for a test through the COVID tab in myRedDragon.
  
  
• Many academic support resources are available to you. You can find help in The Learning Center, Counseling Center, Writing Center, Advisement and Transition or Memorial Library.
  
  
• Fun and engaging campus activities are ongoing throughout the semester. Refer to Cortland Connect to learn more about how you can join.  

It is important that we not let up when it comes to safety. Remember to wear a face covering and avoid large gatherings. While the vaccines provide hope that a better future is on the horizon, we are not at that point just yet. Please consider those around you who are still most at risk of contracting COVID-19 before you engage in any behavior that may jeopardize their health or your education.

Let’s recommit ourselves to COVID-19 safety — for each other.
