The Stratified Air of Higher Education: From the Gilded Age to a Tale of Today

Join Matt Seybold, Associate Professor of American Literature and Mark Twain Studies, in a conversation about his most recent Season of the American Vandal Podcast, “A Tale of Today”. This season’s topics explore contemporary challenges in education generally and higher education specifically through the lens of Mark Twain and Charles Dudley Warmer’s 1873 novel The Gilded Age: A Tale of Today. The episodes feature myriad interdisciplinary scholars exploring inequality, ownership, curriculum and work, and information in the digital age. The show is urgent, scholarly, and entertaining. So, join us on Tuesday, March 25 at 5:00 pm in Brockway Hall’s Jacobus Lounge to engage in the writing of tales for tomorrow.

The American Vandal is available here. We encourage exploration of the entire catalog, but our discussion will focus on Season Eleven.
