Members associated with CEPS research and teach in the areas of ethics, peace and social justice.
We hold conferences and colloquia to explore urgent social issues.
We house visiting scholars from the wider community, who work in an area of ethics within their field or profession.
We host an annual Summer Ethics Institute to help faculty gain competence in discussing critical ethical issues with students across a range of academic disciplines.
To disseminate the work of the Center we have a number of publishing initiatives:
- a series in Social Philosophy with VIBS, Editions Rodopi, The Netherlands
- an internationally acclaimed journal: Wagadu: A Journal of Transnational Women’s and Gender Studies
Several initiatives have emerged in recent years under the leadership of Philosophy faculty:
- Sophia’s Garden — an institute that explores philosophy for children
- The Welcoming Strangers Project – an initiative that explores non-violentist relationship building
