Constitution Scholar Jerome O’Callaghan to Discuss Case that Unified the Country

College Art Exhibition to Explore Diversity in Advertising
An exhibition titled “Drawn to Diversity: Exploring Advertising,” created by Alfred University students, will be shown from Aug. 31-Sept. 10 at two different locations in Cortland, N.Y. The display is presented by SUNY Cortland’s Multicultural Life Office in collaboration with Main Street SUNY Cortland’s Beard Building Gallery.
College, Community Seek 10 AmeriCorps Volunteers to be Funded by $99,944 Grant
Ten new AmeriCorps volunteer positions will be filled starting as early as July 1, almost doubling the AmeriCorps program, which assists with outreach and community revitalization and improvement programs in Cortland County. The AmeriCorps positions will be funded by a one-time $99,944 federal grant, said the project director, Richard Kendrick, who chairs the Sociology and Anthropology Department and directs the College's Institute for Civic Engagement. The money was awarded to SUNY Cortland and the community by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), with funds from the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act.

U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand will hold an economic development roundtable at Main Street SUNY Cortland, 9 Main St., on Tuesday, April 7, at 8:30 a.m. Sen. Gillibrand will meet with local business and community leaders to discuss the latest economic development efforts in the region and how Senator Gillibrand can assist and promote local growth.
