For a fourth consecutive year, SUNY Cortland has received federal recognition for its community service by being named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.

Cortland County residents and organizations are encouraged to participate in the Second Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service scheduled for Monday, Jan. 18. The daylong event, commemorating the ideals and the civic spirit of the late civil rights leader, is sponsored by the SUNY Cortland Institute for Civic Engagement, the YWCA of Cortland, Habitat for Humanity and Northwoods Rehabilitation and Extended Care Center.

Stephanie Plude of Cortland, N.Y., has been named Main Street community outreach coordinator. She will assist town-gown partnerships based at Main Street SUNY Cortland at 9 Main St.

A reception to celebrate the sculpture exhibition “Brockway Road Pour” will be held in the Beard Building Gallery at Main Street SUNY Cortland, 9 Main St., on Thursday, Dec. 3.

Thirty-five members, site supervisors and guests celebrated the contributions of the federally supported AmeriCorps program based at SUNY Cortland on Tuesday, Oct. 27, at Main Street SUNY Cortland.
