Be sure to cancel any appointment that you are unable to keep. SHS has instituted a $25 charge for any missed appointments. You can cancel anytime, 24/7, on the student health portal.
Why did we do this? Approximately 10% of our scheduled appointments do not keep them. Not canceling prevents us from being able to offer those appointment times to other students who need them and then many of those students need to seek care elsewhere. By canceling your appointment if you are not going to use it, we can offer those times to someone else and save many students a trip to urgent care or the emergency department.
Student Health Services has the ability to perform testing for COVID-19. We will only be testing when medically indicated by a students symptoms and provider evaluation. Students who wish to have testing done for routine surveillance reasons can access the New York State Department of Health Website to find the closest testing site.
