Rental Requirements

Outdoor gear rentals are available to all members of the Student Life Center with a valid SUNY Cortland ID. ID card and payment are required at the time of checkout to rent any gear. We currently accept cash, check, or credit card.   

All rentals are due back in the Outdoor Pursuits Center prior to close on the due date. The base rate listed next to each item below is charged for the first 2 days of a rental.  After the second day, rentals are computed on a pro-rated basis to keep the rental cost reasonable.  The first day of rental applies to the day you rent the equipment out.

Hiking

  • Daypack - $3
  • Backpack - $5
  • Pack Cover - $1
  • Camelback Reservoir - $2
  • Trekking Poles - $4
  • Crampons - $5
  • Water Bottle - $1
  • Compass - $2
  • Poncho - 2
  • Compression Sack - $1
  • Stuff Sack - $1
Climbing

Climbing Shoes are also available for rent at Equipment Checkout for use at the Climbing/Bouldering Wall for $1

Winter Travel

  • Cross country skis, boots, and poles - $10
  • Snow Shoes - $6

All rentals are based on a weekend rate, for a cross country ski package of skis, boots, and poles can be checked out on Friday and returned by 6:00pm on Monday.

Biking

  • Mountain Bike - $10
  • Red Bike - Free
  • Alibi Semester Bike - $30/semester (prorated throughout semester via announcements)
  • Helmet - $2 (a helmet comes free with a bike rental)
