2022 Honors Convocation Ceremony

Each spring, SUNY Cortland recognizes students for their academic achievements at the annual Honors Convocation.
Students in the top 5% of their class are acknowledged and awards and scholarships are presented.

The 2022 Honors Convocation Ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 5 p.m.

Students who achieve top 5% distinction of their respective class will receive email notification from the President’s Office to their Cortland address by the first week in March.

The 2022 Honors GPA range breakdown by class is shown below:

Class Year Credit Hours Completed Cumulative GPA Range
Senior 90 or more 4.05 to 3.90
Junior 56.5 to 89.5 4.0 to 3.86
Sophomore 26 to 56 4.0 to 3.88
Freshman 12 to 25.5 4.0 to 3.75


For a full list of the Honors Convocation Awards and Scholarships, please visit the Awards tab.  New award submissions are now closed for 2022 as of Friday, January 28, 2022.  Departments were notified regarding the status of their submission the first week in February 2022.

2021 Honors Convocation Virtual Ceremony

The 2021 Honors Convocation was held virtually on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at 5 p.m.

Those who have achieved top 5% distinction will be mailed a certificate to their home address.
Official notification of the award or scholarship has been sent out previously by the department or committee making the selection.
