Bryan Valentine Thomas received his BFA from the New York College of Ceramics at Alfred University, a Masters of Science in Education from Alfred University, and his MFA from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He is a member of the Art and Art History department at the State University of New York College at Cortland teaching design courses since 2002, receiving an Excellence in Teaching Award in 2007. In addition to teaching, Thomas is currently serving as Interim Gallery Director of SUNY Cortland’s Dowd gallery.
Thomas has an active exhibition record with works shown in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Wisconsin, and throughout New York State including the Everson Museum, and Schweinfurth Art Center. In 2002, Thomas was showcased on The Learning Channel as part of a performance piece for his graduate exhibition. He has been a member of Artist in Cellophane, a group supporting the international Art*O*Mat project, since 2003.
