Start: Undergraduate degree in applied kinesiology
Admission into the undergraduate program is highly competitive and available only to first year students in the Fall semester. Participants in the accelerated applied kinesiology bachelor's program will embrace rigorous coursework to develop a strong foundation across kinesiology fields.
What will I learn?
- You’ll be in a dynamic program that combines acclaimed faculty with top tier athletic facilities.
- Classes emphasize current research as well as its practical application in areas such as:
- Anatomy and physiology
- Exercise physiology
- Biomechanics
- Psychology
- Patient assessment
- Medical terminology
- Injury management
To advance into the Master's program, students must maintain measurable achievements such as completing their three year curriculum with a GPA of 3.0+ and earning a C or higher in key courses.
Advance: Athletic training master's program
The Kinesiology Department prides itself on the personal approach faculty members take with graduate students. We place a special emphasis on preparing athletic trainers to be the best at their profession.
Students enrolled in the program should expect daily on-campus coursework. Additionally, clinical experiences may be on or off campus including some evening, weekend, and preseason obligations. Participants in the graduate program are not allowed to participate in intercollegiate athletics at SUNY Cortland.
