The academic department chair is responsible for the overall supervision of the department including curriculum, program development, budget and personnel. Some responsibilities, such as aspects of the adolescence education programs and the coordination of graduate programs may be delegated to faculty within the department. The Chair represents the department in school and college-wide forums, and is a member of the Joint Chairs’ Council.
