Your law enforcement and personal safety at SUNY Cortland are coordinated by the University Police Department, which has a police force of 19 sworn police officers with arrest powers. We conduct foot, bike and vehicular patrols on the campus and residence hall areas 24 hours a day. Our objective is the protection of the lives and property of our students, employees and visitors of the State University of New York College at Cortland.
This objective is pursued within the framework of the State University of New York rules and regulations and all local, state, and federal laws. The investigation of crimes committed on campus fall under the jurisdiction of our Department.
