Congratulations on joining the SUNY Cortland community! Now that you have paid your admissions deposit, complete the following steps to make your transition here as smooth as possible.

Know your SUNY Cortland ID#, or C# (C00….) and familiarize yourself with myRedDragon.

Following acceptance

Immunization and Health History Forms

Complete your health forms through the Student Health Portal in myRedDragon and submit an official immunization record to Student Health Service.

July 1 or as soon as possible for late admissions

Students with disabilities

If you are a student with a disability, complete the New Student Accessibility Request. Contact Disability Resources Office with questions.

As soon as possible

Housing

Complete your Housing Preference Form or the New Student Off Campus Approval Form in myRedDragon.

Submit by May 31

Financial Aid

Review and accept or decline your financial aid package on myRedDragon. Be sure to regularly review the financial aid checklist. (Note: only U.S. citizens and permanent residents are eligible for federal financial aid.)

You will be notified by the Financial Aid Office when your award package is ready.

Orientation Registration

Register to attend Orientation (first-year students) or Transfer Orientation and Advisement (transfer students) through myRedDragon.

June 1

Wilderness Adventure Program After you schedule your Orientation session, consider joining Adirondack Trail Blazers - an outdoor program that provides an exciting transition to college life. You'll participate in this five day experience with some of your new classmates just prior to the start of the semester. Space is limited. Aug. 2
AP, IB, CLEP and College Course Credits Request your AP, IB and CLEP exam scores and college transcripts to be sent to SUNY Cortland, Admissions Office, P.O. Box 2000, Cortland, NY 13045. Also bring copies to Orientation. As soon as possible after final grades are posted
Transcripts Submit your final high school transcripts to the Admissions Office, P.O. Box 2000, Cortland, NY 13045. Final transcripts should clearly identify your date of graduation, if applicable. As soon as possible after graduation

Attend Orientation to register for courses. (International students will receive information from the International Programs Office about your separate, mandatory Orientation program.)

Contact your future roommate(s) to coordinate who will bring different residence hall essentials.

Visit cortland.campuslabs.com/engage to learn more about student clubs and organizations at SUNY Cortland. Complete the interest in Greek Life survey, if you are considering joining a fraternity or sorority!

If you are considering working during your time at SUNY Cortland, be sure to bring your official passport or Social Security card and Birth Certificate for paperwork purposes.

Emergency Contact

Add or update your information for our campus emergency notification system on myRedDragon.

Purchase a parking permit if you plan on bringing your car to campus.

Reprint your semester course schedule in case of any changes in classroom location or instructor.
