Requirements for ACE

  1. Be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen (NYS DREAM Act students also eligible)
  2. Be eligible for in-state tuition
  3. Meet SUNY Cortland undergraduate admissions requirements
  4. Be an incoming first-year student with up to 21 credits (excluding high school credits) and have a minimum 2.0 GPA.
  5. If a transfer student, you must have earned an associate degree and have a minimum 2.0 GPA.
  6. Enroll full-time (minimum 12 credits per semester)
  7. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) application.
    • Note: Students from mixed status families are now eligible to apply for NYS financial aid without completing the FAFSA at HESC Alternate Path. Students may also reach out to ASAP|ACE staff to learn more about their options to apply for NYS aid.
  8. Receive at least $1 of federal Pell or NYS grant aid (TAP or Excelsior) at point of enrollment (students in the process of completing financial aid may be conditionally accepted into the program)
  9. Agree to participate in all required program activities
  10. Not enrolled in an educational opportunity program (EOP)
