Requirements for ACE
- Be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen (NYS DREAM Act students also eligible)
- Be eligible for in-state tuition
- Meet SUNY Cortland undergraduate admissions requirements
- Be an incoming first-year student with up to 21 credits (excluding high school credits) and have a minimum 2.0 GPA.
- If a transfer student, you must have earned an associate degree and have a minimum 2.0 GPA.
- Enroll full-time (minimum 12 credits per semester)
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) application.
- Note: Students from mixed status families are now eligible to apply for NYS financial aid without completing the FAFSA at HESC Alternate Path. Students may also reach out to ASAP|ACE staff to learn more about their options to apply for NYS aid.
- Receive at least $1 of federal Pell or NYS grant aid (TAP or Excelsior) at point of enrollment (students in the process of completing financial aid may be conditionally accepted into the program)
- Agree to participate in all required program activities
- Not enrolled in an educational opportunity program (EOP)
