The ninth annual Michael J. Bond ’75, Ph.D. Alumni/Undergraduate Science Symposium, which will take place on Friday, October 25, in the Lecture Hall of Bowers Hall (RM 1129). The purpose of the symposium is to highlight undergraduate research done at Cortland, show how an undergraduate research experience can build a foundation for your professional life after graduation, and give current students an opportunity to network with alumni.
The symposium will feature a cross section of alumni who will discuss the research they engaged in during their undergraduate or graduate tenure at Cortland and how the experience influenced their careers. In addition, two current Cortland Students will give short presentations describing their research. I’m happy to announce that Sasha Machmuller (Psychology Major) was one of the two students selected to provide a presentation on her summer research titled “The Role of Online Radicalization in Fandom Identity: A Content Analysis of Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s Online Community” at this year’s event!
If you attend the Science Symposium, the expectation is that you be present for all of the day’s proceedings. Seating at the Lecture Hall is limited, so please let us know if you can attend by contacting Cindy Compagni (cindy.compagni@cortland.edu or 607-753-5477) no later than Monday, October 21, 2024. All current campus COVID policies will be in effect for this event.
The symposium is an outstanding opportunity for you to engage with Cortland Alumni. We look forward to seeing you on Friday, October 25.
Sincerely,
Dr. Joshua Peck
