With 198 approved programs leading to New York Teacher Certifications and over 4,000 teacher education students SUNY Cortland is the largest preparer of teachers in New York. SUNY Cortland is also the largest preparer of teachers on the east coast and the ninth largest preparer of teachers in the United States. The university is fully accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
