150th Birthday Celebration

Schedule of Events

Oct. 5

6 p.m., 150th Birthday Party Celebration, Moffett Center Lawn

Dance the night away to the Rock and Blues Ensemble and enjoy many student performances. President Bitterbaum will share remarks and the cast of "Annie Get Your Gun" will lead the campus in singing Happy Birthday prior to complimentary cake being served. The evening concludes with a video presentation and fireworks.

Free, open to all, Rain location: Old Main Brown Auditorium.

8:30 p.m., Annie Get Your Gun, Dowd Fine Arts Center

The great sharpshooter, Annie Oakley, rises to fame while dealing with her rival and love interest, Frank E. Butler. The production features hits "There's No Business Like Show Business" and "Doin' What Comes Natur'lly" and is set in the era that our College was founded.

Oct. 6

10 a.m., “Dream On, Dream Until Your Dreams Come True, ” Corey Union across from the Union Station coffee shop (basement level)
Join us as we chronicle SUNY Cortland’s storied musical past and its role in launching legendary entertainment careers. Learn from musicians, agents and promoters who were involved in that golden era of campus concerts about entrepreneurial survival through passion and staying relevant. Discover what success looks like for musicians and artist managers today and how you can benefit from their wisdom.

11a.m. to 3 p.m., 150th Birthday Party Carnival, Stadium Complex

The party continues with carnival games and inflatables. Get your Red on by visiting the Spirit Station before posing in the Birthday Party photo station.

Free, open to all, Rain Location: Lusk Field House.

During Games, Fall Employee Appreciation Day, Stadium Complex

Human Resources, in conjunction with Athletics and the Division of Finance and Management, invites all Faculty/Staff and their immediate family members to enjoy free admission to athletic events and a complimentary lunch (concessions at Stadium Complex).
 
Lunch choices include hot dog, chips and bottled soda/bottled water/cup of coffee or pizza, chips and bottled soda/bottled water/cup of coffee. If there are any questions, please contact the Human Resources Office at 607-753-2302.

Noon, Red Dragon Football vs. Morrisville, Stadium Complex

Registration is not required, but please complete the registration form to show you will be there and be forever listed as a part of the milestone year. Check the Who's Coming list often for an update on those planning to attend.
