Each year a global corporation based in Fort Meyers, Fla., returns to Camp Huntington to bring employees from Allyn International Sip and Paint eventseveral far-flung offices together for team building, training and fun. This year, in addition to a contra dance and picnic paddle to Golden Beach, the company hired Thirsty Painters from Booneville, N.Y., to lead a workshop called Sip and Paint.

As the name suggests, wine is sipped as students are skillfully guided through the creation of their own masterpiece by artist BreAnne Dale, who started and owns the business. Given the international diversity and professionalism within the Allyn International corporate culture, she was somewhat surprised to see nearly 100 percent participation in the class. For over two hours, each employee worked diligently on a typical landscape scene from Raquette Lake. BreAnne, assisted by her mother, has been offering the Sip and Paint sessions for a wide variety of groups for years. From setup in the Knox Classroom to cleanup and packing, everything is carefully planned and very portable, so almost any venue will provide the setting she needs. It was such a success for the Allyn group that I’m sure we will be bringing the Thirsty Painters back again soon.
