Non-traditional undergraduate students are a very unique group of students who are sometimes referred to as "adult learners." Non-traditional undergraduate students may be those who entered college a year or more after high school graduation, are working to support themselves or their families, have dependents in their care, are married or divorced, are serving in the armed forces, or are veterans. Decisions can be more complex. Non-traditional students tend to have more life experiences.
Here at SUNY Cortland, we consider non-traditional undergraduate students as:
Some of our non-trads commute from as far away as Baldwinsville, Binghamton, Ithaca, Newark Valley and Utica.
So whether you are returning, transferring, or starting over, we're sure you'll find your experience here challenging and rewarding.
We are here to help you transition into SUNY Cortland and to support your stay while you are here by providing information through workshops, social events, and newsletters and to support you by being your advocate. This is YOUR community, we welcome you!
For your information, there are about 300 undergraduate non-traditional students here on campus! So please remember...you are not alone!
