The Central NY Alternative Teacher Certification Program supports future educators as they take the next step in their teaching journey. Our pathways are fully online and lead to New York State Teacher Certification in high-need fields (Special Education, Mathematics, or Science).

Upskilling Pathway
Designed for candidates who have 40+ college credits and are ready to continue building toward a bachelor’s degree while preparing for teacher certification.
What you can expect (expand)
- Format: Fully online
- Best for: Candidates still completing a bachelor’s degree
- Structured support to help you plan coursework and stay on track.
- Guidance toward certification requirements in a high-needs teaching field.
- Program supports to help you balance work, life, and online study.
- End result: Bachelor’s Degree + NYS Teacher Certification
Alternative Certification Pathway
Designed for candidates who already hold a bachelor’s degree (or are close to completing one) and are ready to earn a Masters of Teaching while working toward certification.
What you can expect (expand)
- Format: Fully online
- Best for: Candidates with a bachelor’s degree (or near completion)
- Graduate-level preparation aligned with certification expectations.
- Support navigating certification requirements in a high-need field.
- Program supports designed for working professionals in an online format.
- End result: Master of Teaching + NYS Teacher Certification
