An important message from President Bitterbaum

03/11/2020

This message is being sent on behalf of President Erik J. Bitterbaum:

To the campus community,

We understand the deep concern the COVID-19 outbreak has caused among students, parents, faculty and staff and are aware of the many questions it has raised about the remainder of the semester. We suspect this afternoon’s announcement by Gov. Andrew Cuomo regarding the use of distance education by SUNY and CUNY institutions has raised additional questions.

Please know that we will be making a statement this evening after consulting with SUNY Chancellor Kristina M. Johnson that will provide some of the information members of our community are looking for.

In the meantime, we appreciate your patience and urge you to visit SUNY Cortland’s COVID-19 resource and update page. Rest assured we are continuing to work closely with state and local health officials to implement all recommended measures aimed at safeguarding the health of our community.

All the best,

Erik J. Bitterbaum
