Benefits Orientation

Welcome,

SUNY Cortland offers employees a competitive and comprehensive benefits package.  To help you get a better understanding of the benefits available to you, the Human Resource Employee Benefits Office provides online orientations as a general guide.  Benefit descriptions, eligibility requirements, effective dates, and costs are detailed along with forms.

Select the appropriate union/bargaining unit from the left side navigation and proceed with the orientation.
What union/bargaining unit am I in?

  • UUP (faculty, librarians, non-teaching professionals)
  • CSEA (office assistant, cleaner, administrative assistant, maintenance assistant, facilities operations, laborer etc)
  • M/C Professional (vice president, dean, associate vice president)
  • PEF (nurse 1, maintenance supervisor 2 and 3)
  • NYSPBA and NYSCOPBA – University Police and dispatch

When you have finished the online orientation, please complete the checklist to acknowledge you have reviewed the benefits and completed any forms.  Return the checklist along with all other forms to the Employee Benefits Office, Miller Administration Building, room 301, within 30 days of your appointment.

You will receive a new employee package and an invitation to attend an orientation session where we will explain your benefits, give you the opportunity to ask questions, and allow time for you to complete your benefit enrollment forms.  Although the benefit information presented in the orientation session is available online, you may still choose to schedule a one-one meeting with an Employee Benefits representative.

If you have any questions, please contact Employee Benefits at 753-2302 or email mary.saracene@cortland.edu
