Community members with children and no concrete Sunday plans should take note: SUNY Cortland students will host their annual Children’s Festival for kids on Sunday, May 3.
The outdoor fun takes place from noon to 3 p.m. on the lawn outside of Moffett Center, near Graham Avenue, on campus. The weather forecast looks ideal, with sunny skies and a high temperature expected to eclipse 70 degrees.
Organized by the Student Government Association (SGA), the event is free and open to the public.
Children in attendance usually range from 2 to 12 years old, but all ages are welcome. Activities will include a bounce house, photo booth, games and plenty more. T-shirts, food and refreshments also will be provided.
The annual festival — formally known as Festivus — is dedicated to the memory of Mary Joy Greene Sherlach ’78, a school psychologist killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Conn., in 2012.
