SUNY Cortland's Sustainability Curriculum Committee has created a new course attribute, Sustainability (SUST).
The criteria we've used for earning the attribute are courses that address what's considered the 3 pillars of sustainability: Environmental Protection/Stewardship, Social Equity, and Economic Viability. If you think you teach a course that addresses all of these 3 attributes and would like your course to receive this attribute, please email Jeremy Jimenez the relevant course syllabus along with a paragraph explanation for how your course meets this attribute criteria.
Sometime this semester our committee will meet to discuss all the SUST proposals, and we may be able to add the SUST designation to your courses for Spring 2026 (but definitely by Fall 2026 the latest).
