Information about Commencement 2022

05/10/2022

Dear campus community,

I wanted to send my encouragement and support to all of our students, faculty and staff during this busy and exciting week full of final exams and Commencement ceremonies.

Please take time to manage your physical and mental health and know that your friends, classmates and colleagues are here to assist you.

For those who are planning to participate in any Commencement ceremonies, including the “Welcome Back” celebration for the Class of 2020 on Sunday, please note the following COVID-19 safety policies:

  • Graduating students must comply with SUNY’s vaccination requirement, meaning they must be boosted or have received a medical or religious exemption. Students who had submitted an attestation that they will not be on campus during the semester must be boosted or have received an exemption.
  • Guests who feel COVID-19 symptoms in the days prior to ceremonies should stay home or travel only if they have received a negative test result.
  • Face coverings are strongly encouraged for all individuals based on recent CDC guidance for Cortland County. Guests will not be required to show proof of vaccination or wear face coverings.

More information on Commencement ceremonies, including links to livestream broadcasts, is available on the Commencement webpage.

My deepest congratulations to the members of the Class of 2022! I wish you success and joy in whatever your next step of life may be.

All the best,

Erik J. Bitterbaum

President
