New York state Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul will visit SUNY Cortland on Wednesday, Feb. 5, to outline Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s Fiscal Year 2021 Budget.

Members of the campus community and public are invited to attend Hochul’s presentation, which is set for 1:15 p.m. in Brockway Hall Jacobus Lounge.

Chester Bennett, the Student Government Association president, will introduce the Lt. governor.

The governor's budget proposal expands the Excelsior free tuition program, commits $33 billion to a five-year plan to combat climate change, invests in SUNY campuses and addresses many other issues of interest to SUNY Cortland students, faculty and staff as well as members of the community.

In 2017, Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul visited the campus to discuss the new Excelsior free tuition program. At her side was then Student Government Association President Michael Braun.

Hochul’s presentation is one of many regional budget presentations scheduled throughout New York state, as Gov. Cuomo seeks to win public support for his plan, which needs approval by the New York State Legislature. After the presentation, Hochul will be available to answer questions.

The Governor’s Office requests that individuals planning to attend RSVP to Colleen Deacon.

Brockway Hall is located at 32 Graham Ave. The public is welcome to park in the tiered lots located across Graham Avenue and down the hill, beside the Miller Building.
