Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Student Government Association's Diversity Board Mission:

To ensure that SUNY Cortland students, faculty and staff understand the importance of maintaining a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community. The board is tasked with celebrating, educating, and promoting cultural differences. The board also helps identify concerns, makes recommendations, and supports programs in an effort to make SUNY Cortland a more diverse, inclusive, and welcoming campus. 

Annual diversity events include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Black Student Union's Black Out for Justice March and Black & Boujee Formal
  • Curly, Kinky, Coily's CurlFest
  • Hillel's Passover Seder
  • Men of Value and Excellence's Mr. M.O.V.E. Pageant
  • NAACP's Founders Day Celebration
  • Pan African Student Association's Taste of Africa cultural event and Fashion Show
  • Student Government Association's Abraham Lincoln DeMond 1889 Day
  • Women of Color's Celebration of Women
